During the trip
- Add your name and the trip / group name in the boxes below.
- One tab = one day. On each day’s tab, fill in the date and the location (for example “Kinabatangan – Sukau”). Tap + Day at the end of the tabs to start the next day — the date moves on by one day and the location is copied across, so just change what’s different.
- Tap a species to tick it off. Type a number in the little box to record how many you saw (the species ticks itself). Use the search box to find a species quickly.
- Trip total (gold tab) shows everything seen across all the days, with the number of days and total counts.
- Your ticks save automatically on this phone, in this browser. Please don’t clear your browser data or switch to a different browser during the trip. Keep your own paper notes as a back-up if you can.
When the trip is finished — send it to Nick or Mike
Please send the trip list to Nick or Mike as soon as the trip is complete. Any of these is fine:
- Easiest: the online form. Press Send online in the gold bar at the top of this page, fill in the form and press Send to AAB. It goes straight to Mike and Nick, with your ticked checklist included. You can also attach photos of a paper list, a PDF or spreadsheet, or any other checklist or species list you already have. (No signal? Use one of the other options and send it later.)
- A typed trip list. Press Email in the gold bar at the top (it opens an email to Nick and Mike with every day included), or press Copy as text and paste it into WhatsApp or an email. A list you typed yourself works just as well — day, date, location, then species with counts.
- A photo of your paper trip list. One clear photo per page: lay it flat, good light, all four edges in the shot, and make sure the date, location and your name are written on every page. Send by email or WhatsApp.
- A checklist from the Wildlife of Borneo app. In the app, open My Sightings, then use Email Checklist or Share (or Download Checklist for a PDF) and send it on.
The Wildlife of Borneo website & app
Species photos, descriptions and the built-in My Sightings checklist are all in the Wildlife of Borneo field guide — handy for checking an ID, and you can keep your own sightings list there too.
